Nationally, March is designated as Women’s History Month, a time set aside to honor the contributions of women throughout American history. On campus, in 2023, we are celebrating the 135th anniversary of UK’s first female graduate, Belle C. Gunn, as well as the numerous women who have followed in her footsteps in making a positive impact upon UK. This historic event marks the beginning of a year-long remembrance of the numerous ways women have made strides toward equality in higher education.
This month’s From the Blue podcast features a conversation between UK Alumni Association Executive Director Jill Smith and Associate Director for Administration and Strategic Initiatives Christina Yue, who discuss a little of the history of women at the University of Kentucky.
